Shit it's here.....I'm 30! Woke up this morning with aches and pains in my back and feet. I don't know if I can take to much more of this old age crap. Yeah I'm home today cause the baby's furniture is being delivered in a few hours. Wish me luck. A real post about my birthday and Christmas will be up soon as I have time.
Only 13 hours left until the big Three Ohh and some thoughts came to mind.
Does turning 30 mean I can no longer act like a kid?
Is 30 the new 20, or is 30 the beginning of my adult life?
I guess I'll know the answer by the time I turn 40.
One thing I do know, I've very happy with my life up to this point.
I'm wishing myself a Happy 30th.
Dan "Old Man" Diaz
Tomorrow will be our third month as parents. For the most part everything is going well. The baby is 13lbs and in good health. He occasionally gives me a hard time feeding, and thats when Mommy comes to the rescue. Other than that, the kid has been great. Everyone has been so helpful, and it's making the transition into parenthood that much easier.
I'm currently reading "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. It's a futile attempt, but I'm trying to finish the book before the movie comes out. The books great and so far I'm up to page 66. The book is well paced and has not disappointed thus far. I can't remember the last time I liked a book this much. Unfortunately I just don't have enough time to finish it before this weekend.
I didn't realize that some of Matheson's other books were translated into films. "A Stir Of Echoes" and "What Dreams May Come" are two of the most recent aside from the forthcoming "I Am Legend". Some of his other notable adapted films were, "The Incredible Shrinking Man" (1957) and the two other adaptations of "I Am Legend": "The Last Man on Earth" (1964) and "The Omega Man" (1971).
In case anyone forgot, my 30th birthday is around the corner. I know what you must be thinking, "What should I get that awesome husband, son, father, friend, godson or godfather of mine?". Let me tell you it's a hard desicion to make. Luckily for you I've eased the burden by creating a Wish List on Amazon. Feel free to browse and treat old Danny boy to a 30th birthday gift.
And finally, what you all have been waiting for, pictures!!!

Later that night Xia is watching TV while feeding Baby Will and notices the story comes up on Access Hollywood. Next day I went to work and found this still the prominently features my left hand. Hollywood, here I come!
God, opening up Vox tonight is like see that ex-girlfriend that you wanted to get in touch with. That is until you realize you have to work at the conversation, because it no longer flows naturally. Unlike that fictional girlfriend I do still like Vox, but Internet time is at a major premium with Wil around now.
Here are some quick irrelevant thoughts in my mind.
American Gangster - Probably best movie Ridley Scott has done since Black Hawk Down / Gladiator. There are some nice lines in the film, the best one comes from Russell Crowe about Jersey Cops.
Good riddance! You're as phony as those $10 Gucci bags in Times Square. If you want to go to Boston, be my guest.
Spider-Man 3 DVD from Best Buy was disappointing. The mask it came with was way to small. Target had some more exclusive content on their special edition 3 disc set. And two weeks ago, their Transformers SE DVD actually transformed.
Xia and I are extremely happy with our new camera. We've had it for about a month now and it's consistenly producing good pictures of our baby. Speaking of our baby pictures....
Till next time...
Xia and I are in the midst of moving. Needless to say it's crazy in here. Boxes everywhere and Baby Will needs a lot of attention. So I bid you farewell for now and will return once our move to North Bergen is complete. We should have internet by Oct. 3rd, but I doubt I'll be on it for awhile. Expect the new batch of pictures to be really good. We're planning an afternoon getaway that should yield some nice shots next Saturday.
Till then I leave you with my favorite, non-Baby Will picture recently take. I don't know what it is, but I love this one.
Of the photos I've taken with my camera, these are my favorites. I have a few more from other cameras I need to get my hands on, but these are all mine.

Google the name William Daniel Diaz, when you get a chance. Make a note of the first link that appears. :>
I didn't get the job for the NBA. I got a call on Sept. 10th to get the bad news. The disappointment was the biggest in my "professional" career. While on the phone I thought for sure they were offering me the job. I didn't take the bad news very well and depressed for about an hour. From the high of thinking I'm getting it, to the low of the rejection, was a fast and ruthless fall. As a consolation prize though...
Little Baby Diaz was for the next day, Sept. 11th at 3:11PM. William Daniel Diaz came into this world 20 inches long and weighing 6 lb. 15 oz.. He's the most precious thing in the world. Xia and I are super excited!! Mommy is doing fine and the family will be home Thursday morning. More pictures to come.
