This once was going to be a blog about me and my thoughts. Then it morphed into a blog about me w/ a baby. When I write morphed, I mean posting sporadic photos of the kid. Now 3 week into the new job, there is no time to blog. I have a lot to say, but no time to say it, let alone write it. Speaking of...I barely have enough time to think it. Ahh the magic of bullet points.
- Hillary out, Obama in.
- Ok Hillary, really get out. Obama, put her down already.
- New job going OK. Rough few days, but getting into the swing.
- Commute to work OK as well. Getting to Journal Square is a bitch; stupid ass van drivers.
- Getting home not so good. I'm regularly getting home around 7:30PM; NOT GOOD!
- Seeing the baby grow up, very awesome.
- Recent Movies - Iron Man A, 3:10 to Yuma A, Michael Clayton B+ (lousy way to assassinate someone)
- TV - The good:Supernatural, Eli Stone, & Reaper. The bad: I'm 2 weeks behind on Lost.
- Books - Gotta finish I Am Legend. I think I'll start reading Atlas Shrugged.
It was a long time in the making, but it finally happened. One of my official goals for turning 30 was to find a new job. Last Friday my wish came true and now I'm officially employed by Alloy Media + Marketing. More specifically I'll be working for Channel One, which is owned by Alloy. I'll be working as a Traffic Coordinator, which means I'll be managing the commercial blocks during the Channel One news broadcast. This is a great opportunity and I'm really excited. I gave my two weeks notice at VMS on Friday, so I begin my new career on April 21st. Wish me luck!!!
My boy finally did it. At 9:11AM today, he rolled over unassisted for the first time! I was with him on the bed while Xia was expressing milk in the other room. When it happened I yelled out, 'He did it!". Hope the neighbors weren't sleeping. It was an uncontrolled expression of happiness that instantly came over me. I'm very happy right now.

It went pretty well, and it was much better than I would have ever expected. Xia kicked it off with a surprise Birthday Bash at our place. It caught me completely by surprise because she threw it on December 23rd! That's almost 2 weeks before my birthday. During our little family get together (which included Mom, Dad, & Sis from Florida among many other family members) I scored a really nice gift that day. For making it to my 30th birthday I received an 80 Gig iPod and some inear-buds that I saw on Amazon. Xia knew I wanted these bad, but I told her not to get it for me. It was just to much money to spend on my birthday, especially right after the holidays. But with some planning from my Aunt, Xia made it happen. A bunch of people chipped in and it was presented to me as a communal gift. If you look closely, it was engraved with "Happy 30th Birthday! We love you very much!" To say I was touched is an understatement. To be honest I think that might have been the sweetest thing that could have happened to me on my birthday. I'm very touched and grateful for all who attended that special day. I will not soon forget my surprise 30th Birthday Bash.
The weekend of my actual birthday, we had a surprise visit from The Gonzalez Clan. They stopped by for awhile and Xia made a meal she should be proud of. The evening was capped off by watching the debates on TV and opening an unexpected and awesome birthday gift bag. Opening the bag was akin to opening the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. I kid you not, there was a yellow glow coming from the bag. The glow was only surpassed by the glow of my smile upon opening it. Thanks guys it was ultra nice of you.
Since my birthday I've been treated to the random adult beverage (made from barley and hops if you catch my drift) and break time coffee at Starbucks. I must say I had no idea turning 30 would feel so good! :>
This concludes the Youth Without Youth posts. Maybe when I'm feeling old I post articles titled Adulthood Without Youth? Right now though, I'm feeling so good, I'm not even thinking about being 30.
Ohh wait, I'm 30. Must go to sleep. My back aches and the tendenitious in my foot is flaring up.
